They were fighting against Krell and Spensa’s father was supposed to kill their enemies. Instead of killing Krell’s army he deserted the plane and turn against his own people. Nobody expected this from him but he killed his own people by leading the Krell people. Spensa thinks there must be another part of the story and for this, she has to come on another side of the planet. She wanted to know what happened to her father. When Spensa digs the reality, she found out the bitter realities and all she knows about her planet was just a lie.
